AltaSelect S.r.l., located in Verona (North of Italy), is only one part of two business units in Italy. NovaSelect S.p.A., the second business unit, which is located in Potenza (South of Italy), has a separate production plant concentrated on the manufacture of the solutions offered. Consequently the company is able to cover the increasing demand in the field of sterile liquid pharmaceuticals encompassing a cost advantage resulting from the positive allocation of production resources. AltaSelect's product portfolio consists of: Infusion Solutions, Plasma Expanders, Irrigation Solutions, Local Anaesthetics, Anaesthetics, Dialysis Products and Veterinary Solutions. With reference to its products, the company participates in a variety of national and international tenders. Besides, the pharmaceutical supplier established an own task force covering the entire Italian Market. The professionalism of the Italian sales team becomes clear when considering the individual business segments. Since its foundation in 2004, AltaSelect S.r.l. has become the market leader in the field of gelatine-based volume replacement within the Italian Market. Furthermore Plasmaselect's young subsidiary has achieved the major market share for its top-selling product Haemaccel ® (Emagel ® in Italian), a plasma expander based on the API Polygeline acquired from Aventis in 2004, on the local market. In the recent past when AltaSelect S.r.l. purchased Haemaccel ®, the volume replacement product was in the stage of dismissal in Italy. In addition to the global network in more than 90 countries the Italian provider of solutions is involved in a variety of activities supporting international registration processes. AltaSelect S.r.l. is present in the respective countries via exclusive local distributors primarily serving the national hospital market. Internally all cross-national actions are coordinated by a competent export structure.
